Jenn Stuart went to visit Michelle and Jack yesterday while Erik took our mom to the airport. She took some pictures and sent them to me so I could post them -- Thanks Jake and Jenn!

Jack -- isn't he the most adorable?
I'm sure some of you are wondering about the whole birth story and how Michelle ended up in the hospital since she has been planning a home birth. I will let Michelle tell the long story, but the short version is this: She had been in labor for a long long time. It was the middle of the night on their second night of no sleep. Her water had been broken for 17 hrs or so and so they decided to go into the hospital before it got too close to 24 hrs (at that point the doctors would have most likely wanted to do a c-section). She was exhausted but still determined. She got an epideral and about 4 hrs later Jack was born with some help from the doctors but no need for a c-section. Their midwife, the doctor and nurses have been awesome and Michelle and Erik are catching up on some of their lost sleep.
Well, that's all for now. --Amy

Posted by: Camilla Engman at August 28, 2005 03:20 PMErik and Michelle: He is BEAUTIFUL! I am so glad to be able to see him. I am awestruck that you are parents - I am sure your mom agrees, Michelle, that there is nothing like seeing our children with babies of their own. You are going to be great parents. I know things are a little rough right now trying to get adjusted but you are going to be fine and Jack will settle into a happy routine. He is so beautiful! Sorry I said that before but he is absolutely perfect. Love, Mom (for all of us!)
