I Often Ask Her...

...how she does it. While I barely keep up with one Amy juggles four under the age of six. I know people who have more children but I'm watching Amy in the day to day.

At first Amy thought my baby was high maintenance from talking on the phone with me as I learned to cope as a new Mom. Then she realized that I was the one who was high maintenance and that my baby is pretty laid back and easy. After hearing her say that I'm careful not to project my dramatic, high strung nature onto him.

So I watch Amy try and make dinner in the middle of utter chaos which means sometimes you strap the crying baby to your back.

He seemed perfectly happy after that. I think one of the hardest things about trying to get things done with a lot of young children is that they often want to be in the middle of what you're doing.

Amy has a little shadow and her name is Marlow. Sometimes it helps to give the baby a bucket of blueberries and let her go to town on them.

It also helps to get out and be with good friends even though it's hard to get all of the kids ready and out the door.

It's nice if you have a trusted sitter so you can go refresh yourself for awhile. Kelly watched the kids while Joseph and Amy went up to Ikea in Atlanta for the day. It's really nice when you have family nearby to help you out. Kelly's a fun Auntie. I liked seeing the very creative way she dressed Marlow and then baked cookies with her.

And then at the end of the day it's theraputic to have down time with your husband. I can't wait to be reunited with mine.
